Change cam or not??

Hello,
I'm soon going to pull of my heads and get them ported and polished with a valve job. I was wondering should I go ahead and change my cam while am in it or not? What kind of difference will it be if I went with the 35-255-5 comp cam over the stock cam? Is it worth the time and money?? I also plan on running a set of 1.7 RR. Would they work well with this cam or not? Any help would be great.
Thanks Jeff,

If you are going to have the engine apart to do head work then I would do the cam too. That comp unit is NOT a smog legal cam by the way. It might not matter in your area though? The crane compucam/L cam (crn-444232 summit) is a certified smog legal cam. I think both would work real nice with 1.7 rr and ported heads. Although the comp peice is made to give a bit more down low while still maintaining good uper RPM power. HOTROD has the comp with 1.72rr and trick flows and some other stuff I am sure going low 13s. But anyway, YA do a cam swap!LOL:D
