Board Usage

The NLOC board will NOT be limited to Members only.Dwight was trying to make a very good point,which is , yes at times the board gets a bit slow, and consequently people complain.The fact of the matter is the board is growing at a very healthy rate and I don't want ANYONE discouraged or turned away,that won't happen The point that is being made is that we are doing the best we can with what we have.As our membership grows we can purchase more bandwidth and consequently offer more to the members,and non members.As one could imagine I would like everyone to be a member,BUT that isn't going to happen and I understand that. I would however encourage some of you that have Lightnings to give it a try,were trying to make the club the best ecer,and trying to satisfy the members to the best of our ability

When the old board crashed we went out and got another site that was running at the same speed the previous board was running, and immediately that wasn't fast enough,but as Speedin Bob memtioned on the other thread we will find a solution
So don't pack up and move on we need your comments,and opinions,and for those of you that have Lightnings , give us a try we won't let you down
But the board is not and will not be limited to members only
Thanks and be patient we'll make faster and better, just let us get back on our feet from the last crash!!!

There are nights I want to get on EBay and can't get on that site, and needless to say it's not a money thing with them,it's all server related!!!

It is frustrating when the speed goes to a crawl, but I always come back. L owners are the best !!

Yes yor all Right,
And L owners ARE the best!!!!! No way shape or form will the board ever cast aside all the visitors we get . There are other boards some faster,but none quite as user friendly in regards to respect,manners, and most importantly the genuine desire to help and serve all it's users.
We'll remedy whatever problems we run across,but everybody is welcome, and members are most assuredly invited!!!

I agree with you.

I have just been in the proces of e mailing e bay.
Took almost two days for a response which was: engineering is working on the problem. (TS)
My point is that in my opinion this Board has become the Premiere Lightning site and the increase in usage is a tribute to all that participate

To those who visit this Board I urge you to JOIN UP! You will make many new friends here who are willing to give up their time and effort to help anytime and anywhere.

Also, Thanks for the Newsletter and thanks for all those who contributed their time and effort. It has been a long time and I'll be looking forward to another before WFC.

It was real slow at first but since you doubled the bandwidth I haven't had any problems to speak of. It might slow down a little but nothing like it was. Keep up the good work.

Actually, Jerry, the old site was at 20 GB/month and the bandwidth setup on the new server originally was 5 GB/month. Dwight told me earlier today that the new one is at 10 GB/month so that's still actually half of what we were running before.

At least the new guys throttle the site instead of pulling the plug. A much better solution in my mind!

Dwight and I have discussed the baord speed.We may or may not purchase more bandwidth depending on the comments we get from the server,were already way over the usage were paying for,so that is still a possibility.

We're also of the opinion that maybe the board might get less use during the months when were actually racing...maybe, maybe not but either way were going to make sure were covered,no more crashes...So for all concerned the board will remain open for all who wish to post,or just look around!!!
