Best price on AFR185's

All right guys I have the need for more SPEED. I am at a crossroad:tu: Do I put in a roller cam from cam motion or do I bolt me on a set of AFR's and let her rock. I am looking at the best place and price to purchase a complete set of heads. What do you guys think cam or heads how much more HP would I get with heads over a cam install. What do you guys think:tu:

Heads will net you a bigger gain...Plus a cam for GT-40's will probably be smaller than optimum with a bigger head..So I'd go with heads if the funds allow.. I'm going to go roller cam, since my funds will allow that and not a head conversion yet..

Best bet would be both

A buddy of mine bought a set off of ebay for cheap. Might try there if you aren't in a hurry. I think his are new ones from a supplier that was just trying to drum up business. I bought a hitch for my Jeep that way. It was cheaper to get it off ebay than to go to their own site and buy it!!!

B&D Racing = cheaper than all the above..just haven't got a fixed price yet.

I'm looking to get them anywhere from 900-1100 bucks.

That $1188 price is the best I've heard with exception of the group buy that got nixed last year. Hate to say it you will never find a new set for $900. AFR heads are the hot thing and as per about a month ago could not fill the orders fast enough.
IF YOU ASK ME, DO NOT BUY USED HEADS UNLESS YOU PLAN ON GOING THROUGH THEM COMPLETELY! Buy them at junk prices because you will have the price of retail new ones or more otherwise by the time you get done.
I know just been there and done that lol!

Was the $1185 price on the 185 heads? or the 165 heads?. I just got off the phone with Tommy Vaughn and they cannot go below cost which is $1250. The sales guy asked me to get the name of the guy who bought the heads for this price because he ould not believe it himself.

My $900 price was through a buddy that has an "in" with AFR, however he cannot get the heads whenever he wants..he has got a few heads at this price in the past and they sell like hotcakes.

If we get at least 5 people to do a group purchase I can probably get them all at $1250..which is cost. This will take 3-5 weeks for all the heads to be manufactued and then shipped.

Let me know if interested. My truck has been down for too long so I might not even be able to wait for this group buy myself.

I might go witht he Wynnespeed deal or Central Coast mustang since the shipping cost is lower to CA.

BTW...AFR has stopped making the 58cc 185 head for the last month according to CCM.
