Belt noise?

Uh-oh

I think I have a belt squel. I thought I heard it before on start up and tonight again as well as when I was pulling away from the gas pump.

weather was ****ty I was all over the place. Was not sure I wasn't going to get taken out a few times. Snow snow snow. I was working security at the airport too so that place always gets hit hard. I was spinning, sliding and fishtailing all over. Even going into 2nd and I was never over 1500rpms! geesh.

Any thoughts on the belt? Just turned 10k miles tonight.

It probably is the belt. Mine is doing the same thing. Had my buddy at the dealership check it out. He sprayed WD40 on the SC belt and the squeak stopped immediately. Bought a new belt. Mine has 60000miles on it, so it was probably time for a new one anyway.

I get a belt noise too when it is cold and when it is really humid. I changed my S/C belt and had someone tell me that I should see if the accessory belt is wearing down. I have not checked the acc belt but will check it soon. I think that I will try and get one of the goodyear gatorback belts since I do not have a bigger pulley yet. Hope this helps and if anyone has any other ideas as to what could be causing these squeals until the engine warms up let us know.
