Finally Satisfied
I need help, one of my bearings went bad on the impeller side.does anybody know how i can get another bearing for my blower?I called powerdyne, and they said i have to send it in to be fixed, they would not sell me a bearing.Man that stinks, they just want to make alot of money off me.I took it apart, its easy.im thinking of buying a regular bearing for it ,will it work?Or does anybody know were i can buy a bearing for it?Man i need help,i dont want to be screwed by powerdyne.

I just had all the bearings & belt replaced by PowerDyne,.......I know EXACTLY what you mean about their prices! They're outrageous!!

Once bit,.......twice shy !!

Try a guy by the name of Peter Revel. He's posted on the Corral a few times and said that he has access to every part on a BD-11A, with the exception of the impellar & blower housing!

Said his parts meet or exceed OEM specs!

His e-mail is peterrevel@hotmail.com

Hope this helps

I am not a blower specialist! But I have been faced with bearing problems in the past on various types of equipment. What I always do is look at the bearing closely, it should have some numbers on it. Now take those numbers to a bearing supplier like motion industries, dixie bearings, or an industrial supply house like www.mcmastercarr.com or grainger. These people should be able to help you. If you have access to the tools needed, and the comfidence, I say go for it. The bearings are going to be expensive though, no mater where you go b/c of the high RPM. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I'll be getting bearings from Motion when I go to rebuild my Vortech. A guy over on Mustangworks gave me all the part numbers for bearings and seals for a Vortech. I'm sure you can get the numbers for the Powerdyne somewhere, even if it means pulling it apart first. Then head off to a bearing supplier and go to town. Also, ***make sure the bearings you get are speed rated.*** For reference, I've been told Vortech will charge at least $300 to rebuild with shipping and everything, whereas to rebuild it myself will be well under $100.

Just my 2 cents,

Kevin,i got it all apart waiting for my bearings.I got them from a guy from this web site.I just wrote powerdyne a nasty e-mail about the way they do business. You are right about the cost they want to charge you.that and more.

With the high cost of manufacturing, I can see why they want so much to rebuild one, they probably have LOTS of CNC equipment, a huge R&D department, not to mention a dozen or so non-value added engineers, sales people, as well as customer service personell, and their monthly payments, utilities, insurance etc. All of these people have to get paid from what their company sells. I'm not saying it's right to the consumer, but that is where the "how the hell can it cost that much" factor comes in (this applies to everything). They won't sell you a rebuid kit because they don't want some dumbass screwing up his blower and trying to get it fixed under warranty. Just be thankful that the part was designed using "off the shelf" parts and their engineers didn't "bastardize" the bearings and seals. This is the case in many situatioins, it makes the consumer go back to the manufacturer for replacement parts.

Consider yourself lucky that you are smarter than most, you can and will do it yourself.

Chris, I agree with a lot of what you say but, Powerdyne does not have to worry about someone doing the above. If that blower has been opened up by anyone or even had its blower pulley changed all warranty claims are off.

Wondering if you could mail me those part #'s for the bearing and seals? It'd be good information to have just in case in the future.

Billy
