Bassani Headers install?

Should i try to do these in my driveway with jackstands and hand tools, or should i wait until i have access to a lift and air tools?

I'm guessing I have to go in from the bottom. I have a bassani xpipe already on, do i need a gasket between that and the headers?

There's no gasket between the x-pipe and headers. A lift is almost always better, but the header swap can easily be done on the ground. Spray down the header bolts with wd-40 or something like that for awhile before you do the install, might make it alot easier.

Blog,
Do like Larry said. Spray the bolts. When instaling the Drivers side header you will have to take your dipstip out of the block. Then put header on and put the dipstick throw one of the pipes and back into the block.

You do not need a lift.

And you will find the a 3/8s open ended rench will work best.

The header install can certainly be done without a hoist. I have a full Bassani system on my truck and I would recommend putting anti-seize on the studs from the headers to the x-pipe. It makes it easier to take off again. You should also retorque the header bolts (on the block) after a week or so. Mine loosened up initially but have been tight ever since the last retorque.

The Bassani sytem went on without the need of a hammer, torch, or busted knuckles. I took a Sawsall to the factory sytem at the rear axle to make the removal easier. It took me longer to take the old system off than to put the new one on! It makes a great "seat o the pants" experience once they are on. The engine REALLY likes it!

you guys with the loose header bolts may wanna try Stage 8...40 bucks and youll never lose another bolt again :)
