Bassani exhaust rattaling

Today I crawled under my truck to look for the rattaling sound coming from the exhaust. I found out that the converter seems to be loose inside. The hi flows are about three years old. I think I'm going to hollow out the cats.Next week the trucks is going in to the shop for an Eaton Posi.Later Alex

I've heard that before that some of the Bassani Hi-Flows fall apart inside prematurely. Unfortunately, I've also heard Bassani will not do much about it either.
Contact them and see, can't hurt! You would hope those expensive catpipes would last longer than 3 years or why buy stainless pipe in the first place. I f thats the case steel exhaustpipes and cats at half the price is a better deal, if you get my drift. I bucked up and paid the most for the best and went full Bassani. If I have any problems you can bet they will be hearing from me, it shouldnt be anything else.

Well I pulled the hi flows off yesterday to inspect and find the source of the rattal..well it turns out the small pipe that flows air was broken off inside the cat infront of the material that is the cat .It was very easy to disect the cats now the truck sounds a little deeper and rumbles more in the cab, also feels to have more power.Later Alex

Alex, Glad to here you went without now cats. Sounds nice huh??? Maybe I can stop by someday and see what it sounds like. BTW thanks for your help last thursday, I feel more secure about my truck now.

There u go!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

FWIW, I didn't gain a single tenth or tenth of a mph when I hollowed the cats on my Bassani.

I would have gladly traded you a gutted cat pipe for the ungutted (even rattling) one. ;)
