Bad Service!

I take my truck in on Tuesday to have it looked at by my dealership for some problems I'd been having recently. All goes well initially, great attitude great service, free rental. Then I recieve a very timely courtesy call on wed. evening to pick up my L on Thursday morning. I still am expecting the great service they have given so far and am stunned when they totally drop the ball. Here is what happened...The truck was taken in by me as clean as a whistle, just had her detailed 2 days before....when I pick her up...she is filthy. Water spots everywhere!Bird crap on the front hood! The interior was dirty also...it needed a good vaccuming after she was there. I thought that you were supposed to recieve not only a free rental, but that they would wash and vaccum the truck thoroughly before giving it back!. I mean this is no reg. truck...It is a Lightning SVT :Y Soooo... Me being the nice guy I am....I politley ask the service adviser if my truck has been washed...He says Yes sir, when I point out all the problems I've noticed so far...he acts as if I'm wasting his time, then has one of the porters come to properly have the truck cleaned....At least that is what I thought :m So I wait another 15min or so and the porter comes and hands me the keys.Again I politley thank him and proceed to my truck. I can't begin to tell yall how angry I was when I inspected mey truck...Totally dripping wet:mad: the interior was still not vaccumed...and the rims looked like they had not been cleaned in weeks. What gives:mad:  I'm so mad by this time, I'm afraid to go back and give the service adviser and porter and say anything for fear of opening up a can of whoop a-- on them right then and there!:Y So I decide to take some time to cool off and take care of the prob tomorrow. When I am calm; So I decided to clean the truck myself today..and , I found another prob unoticed by me at the time. Right front rim is badly scratched! I almost had a heart attack right then and there! Needless to say heads will roll for this!:Y Sorry this post was so long...but I had to let it out! Any one else had similar probs with thier dealership?

Had the same problem when I bought mine. Signed all of the paperwork picked it up at 9:00 PM. Went for a test drive with the dealer and went home. Washed it the next day and found the they had scuffed the left front rim. They were not too sure that they were going to take care of it. Later in the week I dropped it off to get the windows tinted. Went in after work to pick it up and they had wacked it again. Needless to say I was not happy! I was considering letting them put one of of a used 2001 on until the second go round. Now I have a nice new rim on the left front, ballenced on the inside too!

I will not let them was it for me anymore. They send it through the auto matic!!!

DO IT YOURSELF!!!

Hey I wouldnt even let them wash your truck. Have you even looked at there wash bay. Most of the dealers have old decreped machine washers with like brisle brushes. I used to work for a ford dealer as a lot guy and used to hang around with the wash guys and let me tell you most of those guys are young and dont care about customers cars and trucks. I remember them just hoping into a customers car and lighting up a cigarette and not even thinking twice. I dont want to make you worry but it just my .02 cents.

me too, but not so bad

when i took my truck in about 4 months ago, for a intercooler repair, i droped the truck off and of course they beat around the bush about getting it back. it took about 4 days, but that didnt really upset me because i was expecting it to be slow from all the posts i read on here. but the thing that pissed me off was when i finally went back to pick up my truck they said they would have some one pull it around front, so i waited, no one came so i had my friend pull around back and i waited by my filthley truck and still no one came. so i had to go inside and remind them to pull my truck around. finally they did and i pulled off and went home, there i inspected my truck and to find oil scuffs all over the driver side door panel:mad: but its not that bad i washed my car with all the excitement of getting my truck back, but i am going to refuse to be so nicely about it next time......

Hey, be sure to let us know what they do about your rims. I had the same thing happen, but I couldn't prove they were flawless before they touched them

I'll be sure to tell yall how it gets taken care of. At this point..nothing has been done. They are going to ASESS the SITUATION.

Am still waiting on my dealerships reponse to my situation. It seems like they are just going to drag a** on this one. Everyone has to check with someone ...who has to check with someone else to confirm that someone can or will do something to help me which has to be approved by someone else    !!!!I hope yall got that.

have an attorney send them a letter...

sounds like they took the truck out and had some fun w/ it. your could write a letter to the editorial editor of your local newspaper. those guys are always looking for stories. they'll be happy to soil the dealerships reputation.

dont wait for them to make the move, take charge

make an appointment with the GM and DONT take no for an answer.

or

do a little recon and pop-in when you know he is there.

I hear ya!

Sarah took her SC to a local place to have the brakes looked at. When she got it back they had obviously set the wheel face down when they took it off. Needless to say she went back with a loaded fist of rage. I was ticked, because I'd just finished zymoling the rims and they where flawless.

Call Ford Motor Company themselves and complain to them about that dealership. CPLGUNN on here did that when he was having problems with a local dealer trying to get his brand new 02 Powerstroke fixed. The service suddenly got a lot better after that. :D Go straight to the top, man.

When I picked up my brand new truck on 3/15/01 I told them not to do a thing, I drove it home sitting on the plastic seat bags. I didn't want any of them to touch my baby with those brillo pads they call wash rags.
Anyway, I also noticed my truck had over 30 miles and it was brand new, I know someone was out hot rodding it the day before and it pissed me off. When filling out my customer service card I mentioned the mileage and that I wasn't satisfied with the fact my brand new truck had apparently been Joy-ridden in, about a week later Ford called and apologized and told me it would be looked into. I guess my point is they do listen if you do it in a professional manner. BTW - The dealership is great otherwise.

If the dealership won't listen I guarantee Ford Motor Company themselves will. Complain to them about that dealership. Send a nice formal letter to them or even call them up on the phone. Or like DJ did with the customer satisfaction card.

:D Allright guys.. finally.... The dealership agreed to replace my rim with an absolute brand spanking new one.! :) Just picked it up on Wednesday. They were a little slow getting out of the gate for me on this one as you can tell by my earlier posts....,but at least they came through for me.! All is finally well in H- town. Thanks for all the advice I recieved guys..., it came in handy.
