Autometer Fuel Pressure Gauges

I know I can't mount a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in the cab, so I'm pretty much stuck with one of two options. The regular electric gauge, or the Full Sweep..

The regular electric one is 80 bucks, but I've heard various storys about inaccuracy.

The Full Sweep is 180 but haven't heard anything bad in regards to accuracy.

I'm planning a gauge setup right now, and I'd like to stick with all mechanicals, but I don't think I'll be able to finagle a mech Water Temp in there, because of that huge probe on the end...Has anyone gotten one in there though? I would also like to get the fullsweep, as I like the 270 degree sweep alot more than the dinky 90 degree sweeps..

Any opinions/tips?

I have the mechanical water temp and fuel pressure guage on my truck. The probe for the temp fit through the rubber gasket around the steering column. My pressure is on the cowl though. Use stainless fasteners if you put it outside. I'll get my roommates dig cam tomarrow and post a pic if I can figure out how.

I don't know if I really want to hang a gauge out on the cowl for everyone to try to grab and the like.. I was really interested in inside mounts, especially because living in Wisconsin means snow..And yes sometimes it gets driven in snow..

Curt,

Do yourself a favor and definately get an inside mount electric. I've got an Autometer Z-series mechanical with a Mallory isolator, and let me tell you, bleeding the liquid out is a major pain. Worked well for about a year, now it's obviously leaking. Autometer came out with the electrics about 2 weeks after I installed mine, and it really ticked me off. It's definately coming out in the next few months and getting replaced with an electric...

Question: What have you heard about inaccuracies of electrics?

Thanks,

Yeah, I've got the Z series 270 degree sweep electrical. I am very pleased with it. The guage is very accurate within a lb at idle. Fuel pressure goes to 92 at full tilt, lol. It is a bit expensive but I'm glad I got it. Looks great on the piller pod with the 270 degree vacuum boost.

Well I'm just wondering the accuracy of the 90* degree sweep electrics. If I get the money I'd definantly go the 270* sweep. I've heard the 90* degree gauges fluctuate alittle and such.. Plus they're not quite as accurate as the 270* just from the mere fact they don't have as many marks on the gauge face...100psi in 90* vs 100psi in 270*...
