ASP Dual Vortech Tensioner!! Pics wanted-svtpickemup maybe??

I've seen some pics of the thing, and I think it was ASP, its set up for a 10 rib set up as well!

I doubt they have any pics up, hell I dont know! Maybe its March?!!?

The poor L looks like its never going to run again! I took off of the upper plenum, vavle covers, blower, mounting plate, waterpump/crank pullies, ect ect......I have a mess on my hands I tell ya!

im using somewhat of a dual setup. i have an asp tensioner pully as an idler and i also use one as a tensioner. its also a 10 rib setup. never had any belt probs yet. of course the custom bracket helps a great deal! i dont think there is a dual tensioner setup that works with our trucks. call asp and ask for candice. she will help you out. i always talk to her.

It is not a kit made for our trucks. One of the guys in the local chapters has a setup on his 408. It uses the factory Vortech tensioner bracket with with two 10 rib tensioner pullies from ASP. When I get my stroker built, I may go to this setup.

I am not sure what group he's in, maybe HALO or ILLNESS. It was a red Gen 1 with and S-Trim and and a 408 (now that I am thinking, maybe it was a 427:confused: )

Hey Shane, the truck you guys are talking about is mine. I just got an extra 10rib tensioner from ASP and put one on each side. I'm also running a mustang crank pulley and bypassing the waterpump to try and get more boost. Rob G had some pictures of my setup and posted them last year. I sent him a e-mail to try and see if he would post them again for you.

Let me know if you have any questions,
Ray

lghspd, definitely post those pics if you can! can you go into more detail as to how youer setup is constructed? like what does the non tensioning pully bolt to? how do you have the belt routed, on outside or inside of pullys? etc..... shane after you call asp let us know what you find out. later guys.:tu:

Well hopefully I'll have those pictures in a day or two, I talked to Rob G and he thought he still had them. AS far as the details I'll try and explain. First it's a 10rib ASP Vortech mustang setup. Which has a different size crank pulley which will help increase your boost, but to install this kit you must bypass your water pump with your Vortech belt. Meaning you must get rid of your stock fan and install an electric fan. Then basically you mount one tensioner on the stock tensioner plate and the other right on to the superchager ( The second tensioner runs on the back side of the belt and is stationary) The tensioner on the stock Vortech plate is on the rib side of the belt and works as your belt tensioner.
 This will be alot easier then it sounds when you see the pictures.
