Went to the dragstrip last week to try out my new #4 lower pulley. It was the first time the track was open this season and I heard alot of people complaining that the track was loose and not prepped well. Before the pulley my truck would pull consistant 1.85 sixty foot times. This time out it was all over the place. I only got three runs because the track was so packed. 60 FT times were a 2.2 on the first run, 1.93 on the next and a 1.88 on the third run. Now that I have learned how to manage the new low end torque of the truck I feel I could become consistant w/ lanching . Will slicks pick me up that much? What kind of 60 ft times should I expect from a 108mph truck?

Hey,just down the road from you in Monroe here. I'd dare say slicks should at least get you a tenth or so and a lot more consistant. If you had a converter might could even get a high 1.6 60ft out of it with that kind of hp. BTW,what track did you go to? Darlington? I know Rockingham opens Feb 8th for test n tune fridays. Maybe we could get a group up sometime.

Billy,

I went to darlington last sunday. It was the opening test and tune of the season and i'm here to tell you that it was almost not worth the drive for three runs due to the amount of people there. Also, it rained last sat and the left lane was closed most of the day due to water seaping up on the track and is the lane I posted a 2.2 sixty in. Let me know if you want to go to the track, either darlington or the rock. Btw, my engine builder Robin Stackpole is in your neck of the woods. He is currently building up my 93.

Welcome to the world of no traction....only way to race is with slicks....youll get into 60ft times of 1.8 or there abouts....before i switched to drag radials i almost lost it at 300 ft a few times and have seen other lightning eat the guard rails....they are dangerous or slow on f1,s....good luck:D
