Anyone have problems installing 3:73s?

I am getting the 3:73s put in my L as we speak but they (installers) said that there is something unusal about the housing. They said that the gears (ford parts) are for 99.5-02 Ls and mine (1999L) was made with an earlier rear end. They said that I have to get a kit that will make it so the gears will fit but I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has done the gear swap that has run into this problem.

I have a 2000 and when I got mine installed they had a slight problem at the dealership getting them installed. Not to montion I didn't check the kit for the bearings and they had to send a runner to get a set from another dealership. They were able to wrap everything up, the gears and the line mod valve in like 4 hours. They never mentioned anything about the housing being too small.

Had 3:73's installed by the dlr. went back and they fixed it again ...no problems. was making a grinding when turning. still under warranty when "fixed"
