I was driving my L thru the gate at 1st Armored Division, Wiesbaden Germany and a PFC Pressley was pulling guard and checking vehicles. He told me his dad owns a 2000 L and frequents the boards on the internet all the time. Just wondering if it was anyone on this board? Its a small world.

yeah!

Hey....you havin' fun drivin' that L on the Autobahn? :D I went to General HH Arnold High School. Germany Rocks!! Need to go back for a visit. :) Actually dad was based at Hahn AB. He flew F4's during the cold war over there. We had to commute at 4:00 am every monday morning form Hahn to Wiesbaden....those were the good ol' days...:D

small world.
I was over at Hahn in the mid sixties. Hahn was a Tac base and the f-4D's were there then. THose jets were the thing back then. I think eventually most f-4 were moth balled or sold to IRAQ in the late seventies and eighties. Also lived in Wiesbaden.

JagcLightning,

even so I can't help you on the above I would be pleased if we can meet sometime.
I'm living only about 10mls away from Wiesbaden and I have a black '99 L.:)
The only one I know with another L in Wiesbaden is Jeff Walker. As far as I know he is at the AFB at Erbeneim which is part of Wiesbaden.
If you're interested e-mail me at hfladung@aol.com

Hey Holger, this is Jeff Walker, I know its easy to forget our board names. I ordered the long tube headers from JDM, so when they come in, I will give you a call, maybe you can show me how to install the line mod valve.

The autobahn is great over here. Average speed is around 100 mph in the passing lane. Holger, do you have the same problem as I do? When I drive over 85 mph in the rain, my drivers side wind shield wiper starts to get sucked off the windshild and basicly just glides over the water without wipping it off. I pushed the L the other day and got it up to 140 mph, I looked down and the wiper blade was completely suck off the windshield and flapping in the wind!!

Uuupppsss!!!!!!

Sorry Jeff, I'll never ever forget your board name again.
Sounds god with the headers and yes we can do the line mod together. Have you got the 4x4 pan and filter?
Don't know nothing about the wiper thing 'cause mine haven't seen rain till today. Have you scared some BMW or Mercedes drivers lately???;)
We should meet asap for a beer or two. I'm back on 4th.

You are right....it is a small world. I lived Mainz Kastel housing outside of Wiesbaden and went to Wiesbaden junior high in 1970 and 1971. Pop was in the USAF and stationed at Lindsay Air Station in downtown Wiesbaden. Used to remember the German Polizei driving by in their VW buses and going to the high school to get all the trouble makers (dope smoking and stuff) and take them away. They had a thing for wearing jack boots back then, do they still do that? Used to travel down to Baden-Baden to the Canadian Base. Also used to walk across the Rhine River Bridge into Mainz and see the stitch marks in the church from WWII fighter planes and can remember how most of the Germans disliked Americans except for their money. All in all, though it was a good time and a great place to visit.
