Alternator

Anyone have any input or suggestions on an alternator. I am dealing with my weekly repair to the lightning. Before long this thing will be brand new or I will be bankrupt.

Paul, I save previous posts that may contain info that I can use later. Here is the one I saved for the alternator.

Get the 130 amp alternator for the E-150 or E-250 with the 351. It is an exact replica on the outside. It bolts right up and every connection is exactly the same. It is as easy as replacing with the same 95 amp one. Advance Auto has them for $125 plus a core charge. I just gave them my old one and no one knew any different.
It is the alternator for the 1995-1996 E150 Ford Van with the 5.8.

What benefit do you get from a 130amp alternator? Thanks Paul

It will charge your battery quicker. This is good especially if you have large amps pushing your stereo system.

Paul,

Try the Ford dealer for a factory rebuild. They used to give a lifetime warranty on them.

I am pretty sure it is the air pump and not the alternator now.
