My airbag light is flashing code 32.I was told this meens I need to replace the clockspring. My horn and cruise control don't work.Has anyone ever done this? Any tips? Does anyone have an extra they want to sell? Thanks.
I did this a few months ago. pretty simple job. If you want step by step instructions, email me and I will send you a couple of pages from a shop manual. One thing that happened to me was that the damaged clock spring shorted my air bag diagnostic monitor. you will just have to install the part and see if the codes clear. If not someone can tell you what the new codes are. I might have a ABDM if you end up needing one.
I dont think it would be a good idea to install a used part for this. I guess if the truck it came off of was low milage it would be ok. The part from ford is around 100.00.
I probably don't need a step by step, it seems simple enough.I think I just remove the air bag and the steering wheel to get to it , right? Does the light reset after the battery is disconnected? Thanks for the information!
If you are still able to provide step by step instructions from the shop manual for replacing the clockspring, would you be able to send them to me? I have this same issue.
