AGR Steering System

I know, I asked this a while back, but here goes. Has anyone installed the AGR kit yet? I am about to order it and the M&M Panard Bar.

Hey Ken, don't have one but I also have been looking at that kit. They had a gp going on for the kits before the board went belly up and the cost was going to be $611. Just wondering if you got a quote from them? LETSRCE actually bought one but I'm not sure if he ever got it on.

:m I'v been talking to Jeff at AGR and aparently the company was sold end of the year and I think Jeff's job is in question. He also said the new owners ARE NOT going to do the Lightning kit. I would email him and see if he can't do anything for you. I have not installed my kit yet. He just sent me some generic instructions today.

Hummmmm..... brings up another questions. I bet that kit you have has a lot of ford part #'s. I would be willing to bet the box is out of a 97 and up truck with maybe a custom pitman arm, I believe they had a better ratio. But it seems you have to use a new pump (97 & up???) because the box runs at a different pressure?.?. You've talked to them a lot LETSRCE, what do you think?

I don't think it's newer ford items, if I remember he said it was a sagnaw box. I will ask him for specific part #'s.

I was planning to buy the kit for my old truck, but changed my ming after 3 months of not being able to buy it. I called AGR 6 or 8 times to order and was told every time that I needed to wait a few more weeks. In talking with Jeff, the kit is not based on any existing Ford part. It used the stock Ford case with custom machined internal parts. I really wish this thing would have worked out......

If that was the case, why all the extra parts. I would be happy (for a day or two, anyhow) with just the steering box. The heck with the steering shaft, oil cooler, and new pump. I don't autocross, I just want the tighter steering.:tu:

Did you find anything out about the AGR set-up?
I still would like a 14:1 ratio steering box in my truck.
