okay.. i have a couple of questions...

bassani headers: should i use new gaskets? or reuse the old ones? if i should get new ones, should they be from bassani or ford?

SVO throttle body: i remember reading on here that you have to check the "tps" sensor using a voltmeter to make sure of something.. how do i do that & what am i supposed to be checking for?
also: the TB i bought was used, and it looks like the WOT stop was ground down a bit.. is this ok?
do i need to get a new gasket or spring?
hmm.. the SVO is upside down. hehe

shift kit/4x4 tranny pan: any tips from the pros out there? (thanks gregg!)
just reuse the stock gasket and magnet.

thanks in advance!

From F-body experiance:

Use new baskets on the headers.. factory ones work better than aftermarket especially if factory gaskets are metal.

Throttle body.. "throttle position sensor" voltage has to be within certain specs .. not sure of the voltage on an L. Do they make autotap for fords? That`s how I check mine. WOT stop grinding should be fine, usually it`s done so the blades are completely open during WOT. Hopefully it wasn`t over done. Get a new gasket, vacuum leaks can cause some goofy problems.

Shift kit should be done by a pro.

Hope that helps.

Clonetek:

D/k about headers--gaskets.

On the th/body--I installed a LFP one first and now I have a BABolt one cause it's purty:D . Still using the OEM gasket and spring(throttle return). Never had to touch the TPS or idle/air screw.

D/k about the tranny stuff either.

Brooks,

I'm hoping to do the PSP/FT valve body next weekend.

Rent an in/lbs torque wrench for the valve body. (60 in/lbs per the Diablosport website)

Check out the Diablosport line mod valve install here

All ya have to do is unbolt the old one, bolt up the new one, fill with approx 7 quarts of Mercon.

TEST DRIVE.. :D

from gregg (factory tech):
Install is pretty easy, drop the pan, pop off the filter with a large
screwdriver (make sure to get the peach colored seal from the pump inlet, it
usually sticks in when you pull the filter). Drop the accumulator, (11* 8mm
bolts, 2* 10 mm nuts), if a small white/black filter screen comes down with
the body, just pop it back in (this sometimes happens, no big deal) replace
old body with the new accumulator, torque bolts to 80-100 in/lbs, put the
new filter on, replace the pan, torque pan bolts to 10-16 ft lbs. Pour 6
quarts of fluid in the dipstick, start the motor, run gear selector slowly
thru all gears and back, check fluid and fill to line on dipstick. Drive a
few miles, using all gears both manually and in auto, recheck fluid level

Regarding the headers, Bassani headers come with new gaskets. When I did mine I only had like 1500 miles on the truck, the old gaskets looked brand new and I probably could've re-used them, but since I got new ones, what the hell... Use the new ones, you'll be paying for them.
