Does anybod have any idea on what htese run in the quarter??? It is 6 speed. My buddy just bought one and i am wondering how fast it is?

Capable of low 13s with a good driver bone stock for sure. Of course, its also capable of 14s if the driver doesn't know it well.

I would watch out, them LS1's are fasst. my cousin has a ram air ws6 fire bird. (same motor) and beats me every time in my 99 (all stock), and i ran a 13.6 at 101.4 mph. Ive herd of guys turning 13.00 in those LS1's all stock. My cousin ran his once when it was all stock.. 13.51 at 108.09 mph!! a 108 mph run is fast enough for 12's with traction.

That's CamAro to you, pal!

The fastest timeslip I've seen for a bone stock LS1 was a 12.99 @ 108.5 for a '98 WS6 M6 coupe, fastest ragtop was a 13.2 @ 108.x (again, a '98 M6 WS6). Gotta know how to launch those or you can easily end up being "lunch".

JohnnyB: Whats the fastest yours has ever gone stock or modified. I see them at the track quite a bit. This last time out there were several LS1s, 4 WS6's, including a new 02 yellow/black anniversary model, and 2 SS's. Im proud to say my Cobra ran faster than 3 of the Pontiacs, 1 of the SS's (I tied the other), and a 96 LT4 vette. They are very respectable stock or modified.

I've never had it to the track, but if you want to count G-tech times, my best avg of 3+ runs on a night was 13.7 / 107.x (subtract ~2MPH considering g-tech) with way too much tirespin. I'm a little shy of the clutch abuse that is necessary for an optimum launch. I know, ain't nuthin to brag about, and I need practice launching............ but the power is there.

I had a 99Z with mods:

2800-3100 stall, crank pulley, air intake, cutout, 3.73s, free mods, cold air ram air, and a few other things.

Never ran a 12 with it. Autos are not much slower and easier to launch this his 6. I ran 1.9s consistant with it and low 13s. Make sure you hook and get the jump as he will pull you top end. His 6, he better know how to drive it and launch it well, and not miss 3rd gear and slam it back into 1st and bend his push rods all to hell.

Very good advice....been there done that (as have many, MANY others). It wasn't pretty. Finally bought a good shifter....now missed shifts are just a fading memory. :D

Regarding the original question....that depends 100% on the ability of the Driver. I've seen a full spectrum of ET's. Anywhere from a 14.x all the way to a 12.88. What many people fail to understand is that Launching a 6 speed LS1 is a very tricky science. Launching my SS (even with ET streets) compared to launching my L, is like playing catch with a softball and playing catch with venemous rattlesnake. Both can be done with some practice...but one is a hell'uva lot easier than the other. :)
