75 dry NOS and Vortech

I have a Question??? If you add a 75 shot to a motor with the base Vortech SQ, will you also need to add another fuel supply or fuel pump into the mix. I have the vortech 155 inline pump that was supplied with the kit. Will the NOS build the same or more cylinder pressure than if I went with say 3-4 more LBS boost? Is adding NOS a recipe for engine failure. I might be all ready lean but it runs good now! any suggestions

TIA

Yikes Dennis !! I remember what you said your EGT's were I wouldn't do it ! I don't think you have enough injector.

I knew it!!!!!
Ya can't fool me Dennis!

I wouldn't run a dry kit in conjunction with a blower. The dry nitrous system will screw with your fuel pressure/FMU to compemsate for the extra nitrous, which in turn would make your motor go lean on the blower's fuel end.
The only way I'd do it, is to run a wet kit with some bumped up fuel pressure. I think the pump you run should be fine, but getting an adjustable regulator would be better to let things flow more. I personally wouldn't run a wet throttle body kit, I'd go with the under intake NOS kit, so there is NO chance of fuel puddling.
Your truck is FLYING now Dennis, what gives buddy? If you spray a 75 shot you'll definitly be in the 11's. That means a cage & alot of BS you don't need to deal with on a daily driver. Your truck is WAYYYY to pretty to cut up w/ a cage!

I assume you want the nitrous for the cooling effect, so why don't you just run the intercooler Ralph, Rich, & Larry are all running? Ralph & I were discussing this a few months ago, and we decided it wasn't the best way to go for him. The dry kit (NOS 5115) is DEFINITLY out of the question on a blown truck though.

Just my take on it Papa Bear:)

CAPTAIN->The DELVALLO "Nitrous Guru", LMAO!

Yea! my truck runs good but I want a little more ET. I hate to go into the motor cause it is running fine. I just figured and you stated quote:: there is nothing made that can't be sprayed:D why do they get away with it on the new trucks:confused: I never hears about them changing injectors on the Gen 2's Or is it I never hear about the Gen 2's that blow up with NOS.

More Boost

Dennis, why not just add some more boost? If you try and put a larger inline pump on to support the NOS. you will out pump the ones in your tank which could cause many of problems. I'm not sure but I think Gen2's come with like 50 pound injectors and twin pumps. Ford really took their time and did some research when building the Gen 2's.

Later,
Ray

The Gen 2 guys are using wet kits I believe.
NOS works good with blowers as long as you can supply enough fuel. Get a import car wet kit (you can mount them about anywhere)and run a 30 shot which on a blower acts more like a 50 shot because of the cooling effect.:)

Check out the GEN 2 forums because the same basic principals that work for their trucks would work on yours.

You've got to remember the Gen 2's are running 42 lb injectors you're running 19's !

It's not that what you propose can't be done plenty of people have done it, but your fuel system is not up to it, you're already slamming a buttload of fuel pressure against those injectors and running really high EGT's.

I agree. But with a wet setup the NOS isn't relying on the injectors and you can rejet to make it run leaner or fatter depending on what you need. Raymond right though, if your at the edge now and go alittle lean with the NOS (fuel pump can't keep up) you will go bang.

Dennis, buddy. Trust me on the nitrous, stay away. I think you could shoot a mild 30 or 50 shot w/out putting another inline in there, but that's pushing the limits....limits that are not meant to be pushed, especially on a daily driver. IF (theoretically speaking) I were to do it in your truck, I would step up to a bigger inline AND run the dual pump relay. I wouldn't spray more than a 50 shot though, and a dry kit is OUT OF THE QUESTION! It MUST be a WET kit! I wouldn't use the throttle body injection systems (nitrous express & nitrous works), because of the chance of fuel puddling in the upper intake (Iknow some guys use them w/ no problems & will argue this, but I've seen the fireworks firsthand). I would go with the NOS big shot under intake plate kit. This also poses a problem because that under intake plate is designed for quite a bit of flow (at least a 150 shot) so I'm not sure a 30 or 50 shot would distribute evenly over the cylinders. The only other way I can think of running it is spraying a "dry" shot before the throttle body, but run it a little rich to compensate.
Raymond is correct, your EGT's are a tad high now (if I can remember correctly, you were running high EGT's just from the highway ride down to Cecil, right?). Running spray will DEFINITLY increase them severly!

Let's just say (figurativly speaking) we put a wet throttle body kit on your truck set for a 50 shot.

Scenario #1->You get a little loose coming out of the hole, lift, and the fuel puddles in your upper intake.
Result->front row seat for a very costly fireworks display....KABOOM!

Scenario #2->Your intank fuel pump quits.
Result->Lean condition, detonation, & catastrophic engine failure.

Scenario #3->Your inline fuel pump quits.
Result->Same as #2

Scenario #4->Your computer gets mixed signals & FMU goes wacky.
Result->I have no idea what would happen, but it wouldn't be good.

Then figure in all the things that can go wrong with the seperate nitrous system and you've got 1 helluva headache! Then you wonder how much the head gaskets can take. I dunno Papa Bear..............

You said you didn't want to go into the motor, so don't.
If I were you, I would run an intercooler, the renegade pulley set, and get a good convertor. You should then definitly dip into the 11's....then you'll have to put a cage in.

Yea, I said "there's nothing made that can't be sprayed" but I also said "lean is mean"!
How many times have I stressed that nitrous is only productive when adequate fuel is available? You wouldn't put a blower on w/out upgrading your fuel system would you? Nitrous is the same thing, it's like adding another 5 lbs of boost in your case.

Don't get me wrong Den, I'd love to have another DELVALLO member w/ nitrous in the pits. You know how much I go through, I could steal yours, LOL!
Give me a buzz if you got any other questions:)
