Wanted to see some dyno graphs of those with 6lb lower pulley's.

Was thinking about adding one and was curious what you guys thought.

Is it over revving too much?
Did u notice a big power increase?
I heard the peak #'s weren't all that substantial, was curious what the overall graphs looked like compared to the 4lb.

I havent dynoed my truck but i would think more boost = more hp.My truck was stock when i added all my mods so i noticed a big power increase. When i bought my mods from JL he said he had been running the 6lb lower with the 2lb upper with no trouble.

All non juiced L's in the 11's are running a 6# plus upper ,so obviously more boost equals more power and better et.There are no L's running 11's with a 4# pulley and there won't be anytime soon unless they find a way to take 400 more lbs of weight off there truck on top of the normal hitch, spare, tailgate ect. Anyone wanting to run a 6# with or without an upper would be well advised to build there bottem end first imho:D

You might want to talk to Jim@JDM, he has a 4lb lower and is the fastest non Juiced L around :D :D JJ
A4# lower plus upper and lots of other tricks. I just bought some pistons, valves ect from jim so don't take this as a flame but tuners do not count, especially if none of there customers are anywhere near as fast as them.:D

Not necessarily. On any artificially aspirated engine there is a point at which more boost doesn't equal much more, if any, power increase. At some point all the blower does is stir up the air and heat it up. Hot air at 20 psi doesn't make nearly the power as cold air at 14. I'm guessing that once you hit around 15 psi with the Eaton you're getting close to the edge of its efficiency range.

Well i plan on running at least 17lbs of boost on my built motor and i won,t be the first. I do not beleive we have found the point of diminishing returns as of yet. There are lots of us that have progressively used more boost from 2#'s up to 6# lowers and 2# upper pulleys with gains in et and mph and no one has reported not gaining. My upper will be a true 2-2.5# + a 6 lower+chip and filter. That should equate to at least 17 lbs. I do agree about the point of diminishing returns on the m112, just not the 15# part. I also want to point out that no one has reported hurting there blower from overspinning them as predicted a year or so ago. I will find out for sure in about a month. I will do one run with the 6# and then switch the upper to the martin 2-2.5# upper,if i don't gain in et then the m112 has reached the point of diminishing returns. It is as simple as that;) .

With a few more tricks I might have (and still may) hit the 11's with a 4# lower. I still haven't installed my "power cooler", and my drivetrain is still stock.

Ok, guys my original response was my opinion on a 6# pulley and based on what has already happened, and not what may happen. Also it was on topic. I f were going to stray then my goal is not 11.99,as a matter of fact the # 11 is not what i am aiming for at all but we all have to take it one step at a time.If and when i reach my goal there will be tuners and others that are already there....such is life. It is all about smoking the competition for me[vipers,z06,03 cobra ect] and not about being faster than my lightning brothers:D It makes no difference to me whether you have no pullies and run 11's or the biggest pullies available,a stripped truck and a 150 shot, its all good:tu:
