With the stinger, I have had no noticeable drivability differences between the two. Other than using "steps" instead of %, Which in my opinion was the best scenario. I also generally tune my stuff so the IAC has does very little at operating temp. I got in a buddies car the other day on a terminator and on a warmish start (car was like 120 degrees) it had 90% iac on the little holley dash. but it also ran pretty good so IDKHere I was all mad that I had to swap to LS IAC and TPS when I picked up the Motion throttle bodySounds like the GM stepper is superior, this is the 1st I've heard of that.
Gulp! $240 for an IAC?!?!?![]()

This is actually what I have. Has worked well so far. However for my particular application I do wish It flowed more air.

I don't know that I would say the stepper is superior, just that the Holley is designed for it and doesn't like the PWM Ford part very well. My Ford IAC seems to be learning to behave itself with time, but I'm still going back to the GM style. Here I was all mad that I had to swap to LS IAC and TPS when I picked up the Motion throttle bodySounds like the GM stepper is superior, this is the 1st I've heard of that.
Can your accufab TB use a stock IAC? It's the stock TB, so the stock IAC fits fine and I'm running it now. I bought an Accufab adapter that allows use of the GM IAC in place of the Ford IAC. My theory is that it is not machined square and puts the pintle of the GM IAC in a bind, but I have not verified that. I've got several stock Ford IACs available to try, but it was so much better with the stepper (when it wasn't stuck) that I want to go back to it.Can your accufab TB use a stock IAC? take some photos. I may be able to fix itIt's the stock TB, so the stock IAC fits fine and I'm running it now. I bought an Accufab adapter that allows use of the GM IAC in place of the Ford IAC. I've thought about fixing it, but I'm hoping the Fiesta TB fixes things. I've got the equipment at work to true it up if needed, but I'd prefer a more factory looking solution anyway.take some photos. I may be able to fix it
What did you look up to find it? I couldn't find it so got the finest Chinesium I could get from Amazon for $13.this is the route i'm trying on my new setup... Standard motor products AC628 from Rockauto. $104 with shipping
I put the Amazon part on after work today and it seems to be working very well after resetting the base idle and doing an idle learn. I'm not sure I trust it either, but it's what was linked from the video and all I could find. 2010-2011 Fiesta is what I read it came from, but neither Rock Auto or Oreilly's list a Fiesta for those years. I did find the standard part on RA when I searched for the part number. I'll probalby order it just so I'll feel better about it.I honestly dont remember exactly. i think it was a 2010-2011 Fiesta. I'm 90% sure i looked up the part number on a different site from rockauto, but I found rockauto had it when i just searched the part number. I saw the $11 amazon versions and didnt trust it
Glad to hear it's working well. Stepper style IAC is definitely better with Holley than a PWM style.I'm just over 5000 miles on the system now. The Fiesta IAC continues to work great. I've got some more tuning to do now that the weather is getting warm, but overall still very happy with it.
That's good news. I just added a 2nd IAC to my truck and made things much better than before. An IAC can make or break the driveability of something for sure.Just as I thought the Amazon IAC didn't last long. Right at a month. About a week after I put it on and confirmed that I liked how it worked I ordered the Standard AC 628 and had it sitting in the toolbox ready to go on. Put it on a few days ago, did an idle relearn (I've learned that no matter what you do to the system you have to do this to make sure it works right. Sneeze while tuning, do an idle relearn), and it's been great. It does seem to respond a little differently than the Chinesium part did, so I've got some idle tuning to do...again..., but it's good enough to drive around on.
