I read about the Anderson motorsports 1 3/4" shorty headers that they have for the mustang. Does anyone know or think that these could work on our trucks...it would sure be better to spend $350 instead of $800 and up on a set of 1 3/4" long tubes. Thanks for any info...Craig

if this is the samr anderson i know of then its the company that makes the power pipes. didnt know they made headers to. most likely they will not work #1they arent low enough due to the higher deck hieght #2 they are not oriented right for the different chassis designs, some will chime in if im wrong

Yes it is anderson motorsports the ones that make the power pipes. I think that bassani makes the headers for them...it would be nice if they fit.

So this stink is about an 1/8". Arn't the stock head exhaust outlets smaller than the bassani header anyway? I guess if you have aftermarket heads, maybe it's something to think about.

Actually, the 1-5/8" headers are probably just fine for any of the emissions legal heads. If you're running heads with significantly enlarged or raised exhaust ports, you'll need the 1-3/4" (or more) headers.

BTW, that 1/8th inch actually makes about a 15% difference in cross-section and flow capacity.

I agree with Jeff! The bassanni will probably work okay, but when you start making some power I think if you step up you will notice the differnece!

GT40 cast irons like on our trucks are good to about 525 fly wheel horse power from what I hear also! I think these heads are killing my truck, but I'm not going to put heads on this motor, I'll wait until winter when I do my stroker!

I'll keep you guys updated when I put the new 1 3/4" longtubes on my truck!

Stock heads should be tied to a chain and thrown out into a lake use for anchors. 500+ hp....I would love to see that...maybe with NOS or a 15lb charger. Aftermarket is the only way...aluminum at that. I run trickflows but looking at some new Darts.

Hey there worth more than the stock mustang E7s or what ever they are. Me and my freinds got two pairs for free cause the guy was gonna throw them out. There some nice wheel chocks.

Well there's guy in the 10's with those boat anchors...In mustangs that is...Along with a stock 5.0HO intake and cam...Oh and with the stock displacement too...Can't be too bad to be able to get into mid 10's..

That 525 is boosted, I'm sure...

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't think they are totally worthless! I agree you can make the power but 525 is about where they start to become restrictive from what I have read! I dunno......

Aftermarket is the way to go, and I have talked to a head wiz, and he told me putting money into these heads would be a wast of time as well!

AFR is the only way to fly on the aftermarket in my opinion! I think I'm going to go with the 205's!

My combination is boosted if some of you didn't know! I'm planning on on running anywhere form 12-14 lbs of boost through the intercooler on the stock long block! My goal this year is 11.90's with my combo!
