$3,199.99

I'm still amazed that your stock engine blew. How many miles? Are you the original owner? Had it been modded before? Have you been using regular and not premium gas?

That is a great deal. If you start looking into the parts and machine work it takes to build a shortblock you can't build one youself for that money. Well not one with forged internals.

Also in case you are wondering when I blew my motor years ago I called around to the different shops with shorblocks for Lightnings. Johnny took my call and spent the time explaining exactly what they do when putting one together. I used to build engines and he had all the right answers and right procedures to build a great engine, I ordered one.

I would highly suggest just going the forged route. By the time you try building your own or throw a used one in there you will still have a fair amount of money invested and it won't be ready for some serious mods. Do it right once.

EDWARD: yea me too i was so freaking MAD  it has 69k
im the second owner with no signs of it being modded.
regular since i bought in 2007

NacsMXer: oh okay then. im gonna give him a call :grin1:

99_venum thanks alot yea do it once right so u wont do it twice.

regular since i bought in 2007

:scared1: BINGO! There's your problem. It was a ticking time bomb. It was only a matter of time. You were slowly killing the rods and pistons. That's why it says "premium fuel required" on the gas gauge. :nono:

You've been using 87 octane this entire time????
Didn't notice the Premium Only directly on the dash?

Smooth move
