Vehicle must have a current license plate on the vehicle and race with only D.O.T. approved street tires. Each vehicle must a muffler and OEM seat belts or NHRA approved driver restraint system. If using nitrous, nitrous oxide bottle(s) must be securely mounted and stamped DOT 1,80 pounds. All vehicles must complete a technical inspection at the track to be granted the right to participate.

Heartland Park is proud to be an NHRA member track and we follow all the required safety rules and regulations as stipulated by NHRA.

Anyone under the age of 18 who wants to race at Heartland Park must have their Parents or Guardian sign a minor release and waiver. This form must be completed at the racetrack or we have available a form that can be sign and Notarized.
If your race vehicle runs an E.T. of faster than 10 seconds in the quarter mile you will need to become a licensed NHRA driver.
If your vehicle runs an E.T. of 13.99 or quicker or any open-bodied vehicle, you will need to wear a helmet as specified by NHRA.
A roll cage or roll bars, 5 point harness and a fire jacket will be required in all vehicles running 11.99 or faster and in any vehicle equipped with a convertible top running 13.99 or faster. Visit the NHRA website to learn more at http://www.nhra.com/streetlegal/.
Heartland Park requires that all drivers running 13.99 or quicker on Thursday nights MUST have an NHRA-approved safety helmet. Also, please be sure to wear long pants (no shorts are allowed for drivers), and check the lugs on your wheels prior to coming to the facility. We will be looking for drivers that are not up to these specifications, and will not permit further passes until the problem is fixed.

ooops - it looks like I'll have to run the Goodyear GTII's or borrow some drag radials from somebody. Oh well - I've always wondered how bad they would be on the track. It'll be fun, anyway.
