E4OD upgrade ?

I will be making some much needed improvements to my drivetrain soon, and I was told that you build the best transmissions around. I have a 93' Lightning, with 183,000 miles on it, and my only mods are: 1.72 roller rockers, exhaust & a K&N filter. When it hits 200,000 miles, I plan to go through the engine, and upgrade to AFR heads with a Vortech, and a mild cam. The transmission was freshened up @ 150,000 miles, and upgraded with the bearing on the main shaft, but I don't fully trust the quality of the work that was done on it. With this in mind, what do you recommend? Do you recommend changing the torque converter when I rebuild the engine? Approxamately what would I be looking @ cost wise? I want a good stiff shift, (a good chirp @ WOT) but not to the point that I can't comfortably drive it every day, and most importantly, I want it to last. Any recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Steve
