adding bigger tranny pan

Gregg, will adding the bigger tranny pan actually lower the fluid temp? And what is your position on just having the tranny flushed by a ford dealership. I'm installing an FTVB this weekend and considering my options whether to put a bigger pan on it or not. Seems like the flushing does a better job of removing and replacing all the fluid.
 
Flushing is the preffered mthod, it's the only way to get it all out. On the pan, no it will not lower temps maximum, but it does take it longer to get up to the max. The main reason for getting a deeper pan is to get the drain plug, which is just nice to have, but not needed at all.
